Ron Newcomb named President & CEO of Resveratrol

Pittsboro, NC - Ron Newcomb has been named President & CEO of Resveratrol, Inc. The announcement was made by David Fussell, co-owner of Duplin Winery and member of the Board of Directors for Resveratrol, Inc. The appointment was made effective as of January 2.

Newcomb plans to increase sales of Resveratrol’s three products, NutraGrape, a dietary nutritional supplement made of Muscadine grape seeds; The Vine® facial cream and The Vine® body lotion.

Resveratrol Inc. is a privately-held nutraceutical company based in Rose Hill, NC; a spin off of Duplin Winery. Fussell hired Newcomb because of his extensive managerial experience in the biologicals field.

Newcomb was the senior director of project management for Biolex Therapeutics, a plant biotech company based in Pittsboro, NC. He previously worked for Bayer Biological Products in Research Triangle Park, NC and in Berkeley, California. Prior to his time at Bayer, Newcomb was at Johnson and Johnson Products, Inc.

“My career has been spent improving health. For over 30 years, I have worked in biotechnology and biological drug companies where the goal was to develop and market products to treat diseases. Now, my goal shifts to providing natural products that prevent or retard development of diseases.”

Newcomb received his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Maine and his MBA from John F. Kennedy University.

Newcomb is Master Commander of The Brotherhood of the Knights of the Vine - North Carolina Chapter, a fraternal organization associated with wine. Newcomb and his wife, Patrice, reside in Pittsboro, North Carolina.
