Siler City, NC - Five Chatham County bed & breakfast inns have been working with the Pittsboro-Siler City Convention & Visitors Bureau to create the Heart of Carolina Bed & Breakfast Trail. The group officially launches the Trail with an Open House Tour on Sunday, May 24, 2009, from noon until six.

Refreshments, house tours, small gift bags packed with discounts and items from Chatham County businesses, and a grand prize giveaway of an overnight stay and spa treatment are just a few of the festivities. All proceeds from the Tour will be donated to one of Chatham County's food pantries, CORA. Complete information on the tour is available at bnbtrailnc.com, which contains links to each B&B's website.

The bed & breakfast properties are geographically dispersed throughout the county's 707 square miles and though each occupies a special niche, all offer personalized hospitality, modern amenities, and a respite from fast-paced lifestyles.

The trail includes Bed & Breakfast at Laurel Ridge (Siler City), the Inn at Celebrity Dairy (Siler City), Chapel Hill Bed and Breakfast (Chapel Hill), Rosemary House Bed & Breakfast (Pittsboro) and Shady Wagon Farm (New Hill).

The similarities and differences all combine to offer guests a varied experience and a chance to explore a different part of the area and/or new facet each time-family-friendly stays, romantic hideaways, urban chic, just paces from historic downtown and a refined country escape. Some of the bed & breakfast inns also offer alternatives for meetings and weddings, according to Neha Shah, director of travel and tourism for the Pittsboro-Siler City Convention & Visitors Bureau, serving all of Chatham County.

The group will cooperatively market themselves as part of the trail, while also working with Chatham County's other visitor-related businesses to enhance the visitor's stay. Although the economy has impacted so many individuals and businesses, people still want to travel. Bed & breakfast owners are responding with attractive packages and a focus on the true value of a bed & breakfast retreat: charming location, hospitality, and a chance to recharge, said Shah.
