Chatham Marketplace is currently accepting nominations for one Consumer-owner seat on our Board of Directors.

The term is 3 years. Nominees must be owners of Chatham Marketplace. Nomination cut-off is April 23. Elections will take place at our Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 23.

This is an active, working Board. Board members commit substantial time and energy to the co-op.

All meetings of the Board of Directors are open to the public. They are held on the first Friday of each month at 10AM at the WDL Systems/BLAST building in Pittsboro.

Many different skills can be useful to a Board and the current members have identified the following characteristics as particulary important:

* passion for our stated mission, co-op principles, and our community at large.
* accounting and legal skills; experience with small business, HR, and fundraising/marketing.
* previous Board level work and familiarity with the Policy Governance model for Board structure and function.

If you are interested in being a candidate for the Chatham Marketplace Board of Directors, please download the Chatham Marketplace Board Candidate’s Information Packet (in PDF format) from the Chatham Marketplace website. It contains a Declaration of Candidacy which should be submitted via e-mail or regular mail by April 23 to: melissa@chathammarketplace.com or Chatham Marketplace, 104 Hawk Nest Trail, Pittsboro, NC 27312.
