Pittsboro, NC - Carolina Brewery also took home six Carolinas Championship of Beer Medals at the Hickory Hops Beer Festival on April 16 & 17 in Hickory, NC . Carolina Brewery won gold for its Jumpin' Bean Coffee Stout, silvers for Sky Blue Golden Ale, Flagship IPA, and Downtown Trolley Brown, and bronze medals for Oatmeal Porter and Bullpen Pale Ale.

"Our brew team is honored to be medal winners in this prestigious event featuring the best beers of the Carolinas," says Carolina Brewery Directory of Brewing Operations Jon Connolly. "The Carolinas Championship of Beer is an excellent format to showcase the world class efforts of our regional brewers. I am proud to see our brewing team receive recognition for the hard work and dedication required to consistently produce high quality beers."

The 6th Annual Carolinas Championship of Beer Awards competition featured 286 entries spanning 85 different beer styles from over forty breweries from throughout the Southeast. Entries were tasted blindly by a panel of certified judges.

Carolina Brewery's Flagship India Pale Ale won a Gold Medal in the 2006 Great American Beer Festival, and the Copperline Amber Ale is a Gold Medal winner in the World Beer Championships. Both of these beers and the award-winning Sky Blue Golden Ale are offered year-round at both Carolina Brewery locations as well as in bars, restaurants, grocery stores, and retail accounts from the beach to the mountains of North Carolina. Limited edition seasonal beers are also on tap throughout the year.

Carolina Brewery is equally dedicated to food and its expanding menu, which raises the bar on traditional pub fare. The core menu of burgers, soups, salads, pizzas, pastas, sandwiches and desserts is augmented by a special rotating menu with flavors and ingredients specific to the season.
