It's time for the Haw River Festival

Bynum, NC - Celebrate the Haw River and the Haw River Assembly's 25th Anniversary with music, art, the environment and fun for kids. There will be a silent art auction of Clyde Jones ducks, a native plant sale, nature walks, river monitoring and environmental booths, local artist booths and a chance to win a canoe! Kids can "Paint a Penguin" and take a guided canoe ride. Delicious food will be available for sale at the Ruritan Club.

The event will take place on Saturday May 12, 2007 from 1 - 6 p.m. at the old Bynum Bridge.

Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for kids under 14 (babies free)

Directions:
Bynum is located off of Hwy 15-501 about 12 miles south of Chapel Hill or 4 miles north of Pittsboro. Take Bynum Road to the old Bynum Bridge and follow signs for Parking.

The Haw River Festival is a project of the Haw River Assembly, a grassroots non-profit organization founded in 1982 and dedicated to the protection and restoration of the Haw River and Jordan Lake. Haw River Assembly projects include river education for schoolchildren, a volunteer river monitoring project, Stream Steward project for communities, river land conservation work and speaking out as a voice for clean water.
