Bynum Front Porch to host First Annual Casino Night fundraiser
[Aug. 22, 2008] Bynum Front Porch is holding its first annual Casino Night at Chatham Mills in Pittsboro on October 18. There will be blackjack, craps, poker, and roulette. Don’t worry, the gambling is legal and the money raised will help establish an annual scholarship for a Chatham County high school senior who plans on majoring in the arts.

Area musicians to perform at Cat's Cradle fundraiser for Woods Charter School
[Mar. 10, 2008] Three groups of popular area musicians will perform in a Cat's Cradle benefit for the Music Department of The Woods Charter School Foundation on Friday, March 14th at 8:00 P.M. Hobex and Great Big Gone will be joined by Lynn Blakey and Ecki Heinz.

Bluegrass Experience 36th Anniversary plus Tommy Edwards & friends Christmas CD release party

Bynum General Store Front Porch Music Series returns
[May 1, 2007] The rumor's true!! A bunch of Bynum neighbors have banded together to re-open the Bynum General Store as a social gathering space, historic site,and venue for Friday night concerts once again! The Bynum General Store opened 71 years ago and was one of five stores in Bynum back when it was a lively, bustling cotton mill town. The mill closed in the 1970s, and community life began to change. [Apr. 25, 2007] The Saxapahaw Rivermill Saturdays-in-Saxapahaw summer series starts up again this year May 5th, 2007. The weekly festivities include performances by top bands featuring bluegrass, back porch, roots, americana and old time music and a thriving Farmers Market with fresh local produce, cheese, eggs, baked goods, flowers, honey, organic meat, locally produced wine, hand made arts and crafts and more.

Squirrel Nut Zippers to perform at Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival
[Apr. 19, 2007] From Thursday, April 19th through Sunday, April 22nd people from all over will gather at the festival grounds at Shakori Hills for the 5th Annual Spring Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival of Music and Dance. There will be 50 plus bands playing on four stages – two large outdoor stages, one intimate covered Cabaret Tent and one covered Dance Tent. African artist joins local kids to share art and culture at Shakori Hills Festival
[Apr. 19, 2007] The music starts at 4:30 on the afternoon of Thursday, April 19th for the Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival of Music and Dance. Long before the amps and mics are loaded on the stage, however, and the craft and food booths are set up, one of the most interesting parts of this year’s festival will be under construction.
