Bynum, NC - Please save Saturday, September 24 from 4:30 pm until 9:00 pm for a special Bynum Front Porch fundraising concert and auction. Proceeds from the concert and auction will assist with programming needs as well as the two annual scholarships Bynum Front Porch awards to graduating seniors. This year's concert features a past favorite, Chatham County's own Nu-Blu.
Since opening the 2010 Bynum Front Porch Friday Night Music Series, the band has received numerous awards and recognition on both the local and national stage. They received the "2010 Country Band of the Year" award from the Carolina Music Awards and were nominated again this year. Their first album, "Nights", along with the single, "Spin on the Red Brick Floor" spent time on a number of national bluegrass lists. Nu-Blu recently released their second album "The Blu-Disc" on Pinecastle Records.
The 2011 fundraising auction will occur between music sets. Among the items up for auction are an original Clyde Jones Critter, Diamondback Mens Kalamar bike, Shakori Hills Dance & Music Festival Day tickets, a Fearrington Inn getaway, and a cedar bench from Rustic Garden Structures, plus many more items. Food options include Allen and Sons Bar-B-Q, Barney's Hot Dogs and Shot of 'Spro.
Don't forget that you have a chance to win an Apple iPad2. For just $10, you can enter a drawing to win your very own iPad2. Contribute $20 and you get to spin the wheel for possibly five raffle tickets The drawing will be held during the event.
