Pittsboro, NC - Experience a rare opportunity to meet and purchase art from over 30 of the Southeast's finest folk artists at the Fearrington Folk Art Show. The Sixth Annual Folk Art Show will be held at the Barn at Fearrington on February 23rd and 24th from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

On Friday, February 22nd, a private preview of The Folk Art Show will be held from 7-9pm at The Barn at Fearrington. Enjoy a wine and hors d'oeuvres reception, meet this year's selected folk artists and be the first to peruse and purchase the artwork. Reserved tickets, $25 per guest, are limited and can be reserved by calling (919) 542-2121

The show is a comprehensive exhibition and sale of widely diverse artwork from Southern American artists who are deeply influenced by the spirit of what folk art, native art, primitivism and outsider art represent. The 2007 line up for the show includes artists Sam 'The Dot Man' McMillan, Danny Doughty, Missionary Mary Proctor, Peter Loose, and Cher Shaffer. Featured artwork will include whimsical paintings, paper-mache objects, garden art, sculptures, and furniture. All proceeds from the art show will benefit the artists directly.

The Folk Art Show is free and open to the public.

Fearrington Village is home to North Carolina's only AAA 5 Diamond and Mobil Five Star Inn & Restaurant, a collection of unique shops and a charming residential community numbering over 1800 residents.

Call 919-542-2121 or visit www.fearrington.com for more details.
