Pittsboro, NC - Meet fabric artists Mary Lucas and Maggie Wilson at a Reception Sunday January 4, 2009, 4 to 6 PM at the Carolina Brewery and Grill in Pittsboro.

Mary Lucas creates quilts and fiber art to express her love of nature, color, geometric design and abstract form. Each year new discoveries, different ways of looking and seeing, and an on-going exploration of how to use fabric and fiber bring surprises and an ever-changing end result. Currently she is exploring the beauty of wood, and is learning the techniques of wood turning. Perhaps some future combination of fiber and wood will emerge.

Maggie Wilson says, "Fiber art is in my blood and bones. Generations of creativity and talent flow down to me and out through my hands. I feel most complete when I am working with fabric and thread."

Carolina Brewery is located north of Pittsboro beside the Lowe's Home Improvement store at the intersection of 15-501 South and Hwy 64 Bypass.
