Local artists have an outstanding opportunity to promote, exhibit and sell their work to arts lovers and buyers from Chatham County, the Triangle, and beyond. Chatham Arts is now seeking original art for thier Second Annual Art Auction March 28 in Fearrington Barn, as well as for display in their gallery in downtown Pittsboro.

Chatham Arts' first auction last spring was a smash hit with art buyers from near and far. They expect this year's event to be even bigger and better. Thanks to sponsorship by R.B. Fitch and Fearrington Village, they will have plenty of exhibit and auction space in The Barn.

Chatham Arts will advertise the auction throughout the Triangle and in direct mail to previous auction buyers, area businesses and corporations, as well as to gallery customers, members and supporters. Each auction attendee will receive a catalog with information about all of the participating artists, including how to reach artists directly.

In exchange for promoting, exhibiting and selling your work, Chatham Arts will receive a thirty percent commission, the same rate they receive for art sold in our Pittsboro gallery. If you would like to make that commission larger, Chatham Arts would be most delighted and very grateful since the contribution directly enhances the arts in Chatham. Chatham Arts supports artists in the schools and through the gallery, and sponsors diverse arts events for everyone living, working, shopping and visiting in the area.

If you are interested in selling your art at the auction, please sign up by February 22 and plan to deliver your art March 13-17, in time for the Chatham Arts Sneak Preview gallery exhibit March 20-27. You may obtain a contract on the Chatham Arts website. If you wish to exhibit and sell art through ther gallery at other times, please contact Monnda Welch at 542-6511 or Mary Simpson at Chatham Arts at 919-542-0394.
