Chatham Artists Guild announces Studio Tour Artists award winners

Pittsboro, NC - The 13th annual Chatham Studio Tour got underway Dec. 3rd & 4th with hundreds of visitors to arts studios throughout the county from Chatham and neighboring communities in the pursuit of artistic excellence. The Chatham Studio Tour Opening Reception held at Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) Gallery, Pittsboro Campus, Friday, December 2, was attended by an estimated 300 art lovers.

The show was juried by Denise Dickens, a partner with Phoenix Partners, an arts consulting firm based in Raleigh, NC, serving both the not-for-profit and profit sectors on a regional, national and international basis.

Winners of the Juried Awards are:

Paul Harrell, 1st place, Cabinet on Stand;

Martha Danek, 2nd place;

Jean Vollrath, 3rd place, Woven Jacket;

Forrest Greenslade, Honorable mention.

The public was invited to vote for the “People’s Choice” Award.

People's Choice Awards went to:

Martha Danek, lst place, Title: Little, Soft, Beautiful Things;

Forrest Greenslade, 2nd place, Title: Aquila's Return;

Eddie White, Third place, Wire Vessel; Janice Rieves,

Third place, Flameflower lamp

The Chatham Studio Tour, and the many events that lead up to this exciting Chatham County annual event, can not happen without the loyal support of our sponsors.
