Pittsboro, NC - Chatham Arts has teamed up with the American Heart Association to host "decorate the wine glass" event just in time for Valentine's Day. Chatham Arts will provide you with a wine glass to paint, etch, glaze, or decorate in whatever artistic fashion you desire. Chatham Arts will host a reception on Friday, February 10, where the glasses will be sold at silent auction with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the AHA.

You can pick up 1-4 glasses at our Gallery ( 60 glasses available) on any Wednesday through Saturday between 11-5 p.m starting January 3. You can call ChathamArts at 542-0394 to make other arrangements for pick-up or if you have questions.

If you chose to paint you should wipe the clean glass with alcohol before using acrylic or glass acrylic paints. Then place the completed wine glass in a cold oven, turn the heat to 350 for 1 hour, turn off oven and let glass cool. When you remove the glass the paint will be set. Please do sign your glass.

Glasses should be picked up no later than January 18 and they must be returned to the gallery by January 28. Sunday, February 6, is First Sunday in Pittsboro so we would like to have the glasses on display that date and in preparation for the Reception on Friday evening, February 10.
